During the economic boom of the 60s, Europe's tallest buildings were built in the prosperous north of Italy. On the other side of the country Cavers visit the Calabrian highlands in the untouched hinterland of Calabria. There, young conquerors explore some of the deepest caves in the world. It is 700 meters below the surface of the earth, and no one has ever been to the bottom of the cave. The invaders' adventures did not go unnoticed by the villagers of a small nearby village, but not by the old shepherds of the Pollino plateau.
