The story of Darby having her relationship with popular cheerleader Capri. who died prematurely in a shocking accident Darby gets all her friends to throw her one last party in absentia, causing her "Sweet 17" party to be cancelled. Capri is determined to host a feast until his death. But it turns to Derby to get the festivities going according to plan. Darby has to reinvent himself and eventually finds it isn't so bad, and in the meantime learns how to adapt to the living world again
