The story revolves around Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) who is retired and living in Venice. He hires former police officer Vitale Portfoglio (Riccardo Scamarcio) as his bodyguard to ward off desperate people looking for investigative services. Poirot is then visited by Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey), a bestselling mystery author who has a proposal. She is writing a book about famous media personality Joyce Reynolds (Michelle Yeoh). She has no idea how Reynolds has achieved her supernatural demeanor. and wants Poirot to follow her to see if he can find anything. They attend a Halloween party for orphans at Rowena Drake's (Kelly Reilly) palace, where after the party Wanting to contact the spirit of her daughter Alicia, Alicia falls from a balcony and drowns. It may or may not have been murder. Lo and behold, more murders began to occur. And Poirot goes to work to find out the facts and find the suspects. But something is wrong, and Poirot begins to hear voices and see ghosts
